Dreamy new composition from classical Catalan Sergi Boal

by | indieBerlin

‘If You Take the World’, the latest single release from Barcelona-based composer Sergi Boal, combines the artist’s trademark classical guitar melodies with the soulful voice of Clara Luna.

The result is an emotive four and a half minute production in which Boal’s guitar is complemented by delicate piano and cello, alongside Luna’s dynamic vocals.

Sergi BoalBoal’s classical training comes across, and you can tell that this is an artist who now has seven years spent writing and recording under his belt. The song has an emotional weight to it, described by Boal as ‘music of hope for difficult times’, and feels like a step forward in the maturity of his composition.

Luna’s vocals are key to the cinematic effect, and the prolific jazz singer – also a Barcelona native – brings a subtlety and elegance to the lyrics. Clara Peya’s piano and the cello of Dimitri Dolganov complete the quartet.

Boal is currently recording his upcoming album, which indieBerlin (as you should too) will await with interest.
