Win tickets to Wooden Peak on November 15th at Klunkerkranich!

by | indieBerlin

Catch indie/electronica duo Wooden Peak at the charming rooftop venue Klunerkranich, where they’ll be performing tracks from their soon-to-be-released record Yellow Walls.

Formerly known as Sebastian Bode and Jonas Wolter, the pair blur the line between soundscapes and sonic manipulations, presenting us with mellow beats and unexpected twists and turns in their new project.

An ode to the piss-soaked backyard walls on which newcomers to the graffiti scene would earn their stripes, Yellow Walls will be the fourth album from the Leipzig-based duo. The instrumentation is given space to breathe; it’s an easy-going endeavour, not taking itself too seriously and sticking to a delicious simplicity.

Their previous album Polar taps into the intriguing texture that’s been missing from the Berlin electronica scene. It doesn’t overwhelm itself with unnecessary layers, resulting in clean lines and a refreshing sense of purity. That’s not to say that it’s not exciting by any means – you never know what to expect with Wooden Peak. They know exactly what they’re doing, and are pushing the boundaries just enough to pique your interest. It’s rich and melancholy, and definitely not to be missed.

IndieBerlin are offering two free tickets to their Neukölln show on Thursday November 15th – if you’d like to see them for yourself, send a message to win(at)indieberlin.de, and check out the details of the gig here.
