Masego has been growing in the R’n’B scene for a while now, with his unique and modern twisting of classic jazz styles and his ability to mix both old and new forms of music within his songs. Micah Davis, the genius behind Masego, mixes jazz, R’n’B, hip-hop, labelling himself under the genre of “TrapHouseJazz”; he sings, raps and DJs, as well as playing his trusty saxophone in many of his tracks, Masego is ultimately an all-round win for your ears and your dance moves.
Masego released his first EP The Pink Polo back in 2016, in collaboration with big-name producer Medasin. The EP included the infamous track Girls That Dance that now has millions of streams on Spotify. He then got praise from artists including Diddy, Solange, Michelle Phan and radio platforms including XXL, BBC Radio, HOT97, HypeTrak, DJ Booth, Okay Player and the Universal Music Group and commenced his first tour.
One of his most notable hits so far has been his single Navajo, which soured into ever amounting fame when the song starred in the infamous music YouTube show based in Berlin, COLORS. The song was streamed over 800,000 times in under 10 days on this platform alone.
He’s collaborated with another smooth voice, Xavier Omar, with Wifeable in his 2016 album Loose Thoughts. Masego has also collaborated with French producer FKJ, to create his highest streamed single Tadow, with over 28 million streams on Spotify alone.
This year he has produced two new singles, Lady Lady, a jazz-orientated number of which his tour is named after. His most recent single (on August 22nd!) Old Age featuring SiR about keeping class and style in old age.
