The world’s biggest one-day celebration of music is on this year again: with tons of live streams and a good dollop of love
You can’t keep a good global celebration of music down, as they say. Around the world the party is on again this year – albeit with appropriate social distancing in place, and mostly online.
In Berlin the team that makes sure the Fete happens every year has helped enable tons of people to make sure that this Sunday 21st June will be the Day of the Live Streams And Then Some.
Over a hundred live streams will be hosted on the fetedelamusique.de website itself, while the FETEBerlin’s social media will be linking to enough other streams going on to make a non-digital native’s heart quail (in a good way).
Offline (ie in the real world) things are happening too, with one cute trick being some 20 singer-songwriter-type people serenading the city of Berlin (at least in the Mitte district) from the back of the popular bicycle rickshaws – or Velotaxis in the local parlance – which have been commandeered for the day.
Also from 5-6pm is the Europe-wide Singalong that everyone can do from, well, wherever they are.
