Finnish indie trio NEØV will be gracing Berlin with their presence with an cosy performance at Berlin staple Monarch next Monday – and we’re offering two pairs of tickets to indieBerlin readers!
Having formerly worked as a quintet, the band have ventured into new territory with their latest album Volant, which is their first effort as a threesome. Maintaining the trademark sound of their previous two records, the group have gone from strength to strength since their debut release Orange Morning back in 2013. Exploring new territories and songwriting styles in this latest venture, their new album has a refreshing indie-pop sound that doesn’t take itself too seriously.
With shoegaze and art-rock influences, NEØV’s curiosity and admiration for the wilderness shines through in their sound – relocating to a cabin in the woods for the recording process seems to have sparked something in them. Full of rich and layered textures and sunny melodies, it’s a mellow and laid-back record, tinged with nostalgia and a bittersweet sentiment.
It’s the perfect sound for this snug venue tucked away just around the corner from Kottbusser Tor – we wouldn’t be surprised if it sells out, so don’t hesitate to get your tickets now!
